All the Small Things

all-the-small-things

This is my favourite time of year. The weather cools down, the sweaters come out and before you know it you’re bundled up with a hot drink almost every chance you get. It is a season of giving, loving, and sharing and as our Canadian readers celebrate Thanksgiving this weekend I thought I would share some things that are getting me into the spirit of the season.

Forever21 Southwestern Striped Scarf
I bought this as a little gift for a friend. We both have a mutual love for scarves and this one is so large that it could almost qualify as a throw blanket. It is huge and oh-so-soft. I found it in the mens department at Forever21 after a long day of searching for the right gift and I think I might have to go back and get one for myself. I love being wrapped up all chic and cozy with a latte and a good book.

Limited Edition Heritage Pumpkin Scented Soy Candle
As you can see I love this candle so much it’s almost gone. I only bought it about two weeks ago and it instantly fills up your home with a cheery spicy scent that you might only get from baking a fresh pumpkin pie.

CatchPhrase
Another gift (and a great one at that) this game is a must for any home collection and works great for larger groups. It’s a sort of Taboo/Hot Potato fusion and once you get going it’s hard to stop. I’m serious we played for almost four hours the other night. Just to prepare you.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Plum and WetnWild LA Megalast Lip Colour in Cherry Bomb
I have been on the lookout for the perfect berry/plum/cherry lip colour for the past few weeks and these ones are so far at the top of my list (for drugstore brands). The Revlon goes on super smooth and is really rehydrating. I apply, blot, apply, blot around 3 times to really lock the colour in. The WetnWild, however, has a strong pigment and goes on pretty much as you see it in the tube. I do apply blot once and then put a really fine layer of colour on top and the colour keeps almost all day with minimal reapplying.

Green Inspired Thank You Notes
I have recently become obsessed with having stationary and thank you cards readily available in my home office. I personally love receiving mail (even bills – the thrill just gets me) and I think when people open their mailbox to see something as simple and genuine as a thank you note it would kind of make their day. Plus it’s always nice to not have to run to the store last-minute and pick up a card that doesn’t have as much personality and simply “does the job”.

Forever21 Bronze Sparkle Necklace (similar here)
What would the holidays be without a little sparkle? Layering is really in right now in terms of accessories but these babies also look amazing all on their own. A great way to dress up an otherwise simple ensemble with minimal effort, the statement necklace is one we hope is here to stay.
